    Post  Dio on Wed Jan 28, 2009 2:30 pm

    Me and KingK are going to start playing this,
    Valve is releasing the demo via Steam so anyone wanting to grab it;
    It's here.

    Hopefully we'll get a mob going for this or CoH.

    Well, the system is pretty much like CoH, except there's no basebuilding and its Warhammer 40k

    Well, the '500 blood count/300 requisition' reinforcement power helped.
    Not to mention once I realised I bloody needed carnifexes allready. XD

    Ok, i've had a little look around online.
    It seems that allot of people are having the same kind of problems with anti-infantry units and it doesn't help that Space marines (KingK's speciality) are indeed very anti-infantry orientated, or atleast to my notice.

    Mostly I was using the two types of gaunts and a few warrior but i've noticed others have been more readily swapping potential uses of requisition points to get the likes of Spore Mines (Which are apparently very dangerous to anything but commanders) and also using the raveners which from what i've seen on the non-visually laggy version of DoWII (Not my version in other words) are about 40% faster. I suppose that'ld make the raveners good for sneaking in sideways to oppose heavy machineguns, just a suspicion though, completely unchecked.

    I learnt I want to use upgraded Warriors versus tanks, oh and another thing I just realised was missing;
    Genestealers, the guys are completly missing from the Demo, not sure if it's because it -is- a demo but they're not there. :(
    Personally I think that'ld be a major help, having more ways of re-stocking the horde mid-battlefield.
    Mostly that last claim comes from the fact that to take any point your relying on zerg tactics, and it can be time consuming trying to get any surviving units back to enough a number to pose anything other than a minor threat.

    It seems that apparently the lictor is the best hero and the ravener which I was using in the last match the worst, atleast for direct combat, though it does apparently have some anti-tank capabilities. Personally I think I might switch to my original choice the tyrant again due to it's command ability to spawn unit-regenerators.
