    Gensokyo Tower Defense!

    Post  Sockpies on Sun Dec 19, 2010 7:39 am

    The title kind of speaks for itself. Its a game where you start out as Reimu, Marisa, and Sakuya. They each have 10 towers. For example: Sakuya's towers are:
    Silver Knife
    * Cost: 3
    * Damage: 10
    * Range: 60
    * Upgrade cost: 3, 6, 12, 24, 52
    * Power Increase: 10, 20, 40, 80, 140
    * Range Increase: +100 at level 5

    Sakuya's cheapest tower. Shoots a single quick knife, average rate of fire. Gains a significant boost of range at level 5. Rarely misses, even after range has been expanded.

    Mysterious Jack

    * Cost: 6
    * Damage: 7
    * Range: 80
    * Upgrade cost: 5, 10, 19, 37, 83
    * Power Increase: 5, 6, 10, 21, 25
    * Range Increase: 5, 5, 5, 5, 10

    Shoots a single wave of 3 knives, one straight forward, and one each a slight angle away from the center. This increases to 2 waves of 5 knives at level 2, and 3 waves of 7 knives at level 5. After shooting the number of waves they are capable of, the tower has a short amount of recovery.

    Jack the Ripper

    * Cost: 8
    * Damage: 3
    * Range: 120
    * Upgrade cost: 7, 13, 25, 47, 100
    * Power Increase: 3, 3, 9, 8, 4
    * Range Increase: 0, 5, 0, 5, 10

    Shoots a single knife in a rapid, constant rate of fire. At level 5, this tower begins shooting double knives instead of single knives. Has no recovery time.

    Another Murder

    * Cost: 10
    * Damage: 12
    * Range: 70
    * Upgrade cost: 10, 18, 35, 67, 130
    * Power Increase: 12, 24, 36, 84, 132
    * Range Increase: 0, 0, 10, 0, 10

    Shoots 3 large knives of average speed at foes, and then recovers for a moderate amount of time. Increases to 4 knives at level 5. At level 5, if the knives miss they will bounce of the boundaries of the map twice.

    Killer Doll(this is my favorite one <3)

    * Cost: 12
    * Damage: 8
    * Range: 90
    * Upgrade cost: 11, 21, 40, 78, 128
    * Power Increase: 8, 18, 36, 74, 26
    * Range Increase:

    Shoots a half-circle of knives which hover around the tower for a second before quickly homing in on the enemy. Does not miss, medium recharge time. At level 5, the tower shoots two half-circles of knives, doubling its power. While it will only fire when an enemy is within range, will strike any manually targeted enemy no matter where it is much like the Ying Yang Seal.
    Misdirection(weak but effective in groups of killer dolls and soul scriptures, possibly some private illusions)
    * Cost: 9
    * Damage: 4
    * Range: 55
    * Upgrade cost: 8, 15, 36, 64, 98
    * Power Increase: 3, 6, 8, 17, 27
    * Range Increase: +10 at level 5

    Shoots 2 half spirals of knives which bounce off the boundaries of the map once. Leveling up this tower gradually increases the number of knives shot per salvo. At level 3, two waves are fired.

    Soul Scripture

    * Cost: 25
    * Damage: 3
    * Range: 50
    * Upgrade cost: 24, 47, 92, 180, 332
    * Power Increase: 3, 6, 12, 24, 62
    * Range Increase: +10 at level 5

    Melee tower. Rapidly shoots small slashes with no recovery time. Can't hit flying enemies.

    Private Illusion

    * Cost: 17
    * Damage: 8
    * Range: 70
    * Upgrade cost: 14, 14, 14, 14, 27
    * Power Increase: 4, 6, 8, 14, 29
    * Range Increase: +10 at level 5

    Targets an enemy with a magic symbol, briefly stopping the enemy. A second later, knives appear half-surrounding that enemy and fire towards it. Long recovery between attacks. Leveling up increases the number of knives that appear. At level 2, some additional knives begin pointing in random directions. At level 5, the enemy is stopped for a longer period of time. Recovery time is reduced at higher levels.

    Soul Scripture

    * Cost: 25
    * Damage: 3
    * Range: 50
    * Upgrade cost: 24, 47, 92, 180, 332
    * Power Increase: 3, 6, 12, 24, 62
    * Range Increase: +10 at level 5

    Melee tower. Rapidly shoots small slashes with no recovery time. Can't hit flying enemies.

    Private Square

    * Cost: 90
    * Damage: n/a
    * Range: 90
    * Upgrade cost: 60, 60, 60, 60, 90
    * Power Increase: n/a
    * Range Increase: 40, 40, 60, 70, 300

    One-use bomb. Stops all enemies within range for a short period of time. Time of effect increases with level.

    Spirit Sucking Field

    * Cost: 30
    * Damage: n/a
    * Range:

    Aims a red zone shaped like a cone at Death Butterflies, weakening them. Based on Sakuya's focus area in PoFV.(useful in levels like the prismriver stage and the tree where yuyuko is)

    Your enemies are:

    Fairies

    Basic normal enemies. There are four visually distinct types, but there are no real differences between them.

    Evil Eye

    Youkai-type enemy. Slower than normal enemies, but has damage resistance properties. Each level the evil eye has reduces damage inflicted to it by one point. (Thus, for example, a level 0 Homing Amulet would be incapable of damaging a level 9 Evil Eye: 5 damage - 9 EE level < 0.)

    Crow

    Enemies with the highest movement speed. Despite being birds, they cannot fly over anything on the ground. Greater difficulty effect: higher speed.

    Kedama

    Individual kedama aren't much different than the fairies in behavior...

    Double Kedama

    However, some of the kedama come in pairs. When a pair is defeated, the kedama in the pair split apart, and continue on as separate enemies. The force of the splitting can propel them across narrow portions of your walls. An unsplit pair reaching the exit does only 1 damage to your health, but a split pair can do 2 damage. Also note that only the initial split grants you any power items and points; defeating formerly joined fluff balls gives you nothing. Greater difficulty effect: divides twice on hard, three times(?) on lunatic.

    Death Butterfly

    Normally takes minimal damage. However, each character has a tower called the "Spirit Sucking Field" which lowers their defense, making them much easier to kill.

    Cirno

    Acts like a normal fairy, but if the path to the exit is changed the slightest bit, Cirno gets confused and halts for a second.

    Rumia

    Youkai-type enemy. Favors dark places. Generates an area of darkness, so that Rumia, surrounding characters, and their lifebars cannot be seen. Multiple Rumia will totally blacken the area, making it difficult to try to place new towers, target enemies, and select your own towers.

    Mystia Lorelei

    Commonly appears in the Forest of Magic. Flying Youkai-type. They have an invisible radius around them, which lowers the radius of all towers. Boss Mystia has a greater radius of effect.
    Lily White

    Lily simply makes a beeline for the exit, flying over any obstacles in her way.

    Tewi

    Commonly appears in the Bamboo Forest. Unlike other enemies, Tewi takes a shortcut to the nearest exit, going from left to bottom, and top to right.

    I can never get this working. Everytime I try to extract the files from the 4 .rar's, it gives me a corrupt file error on part 4 during the gdtbgm.dat file. Anyone else have this problem? I've done this for 4 different times, redownloaded the files each time from two DIFFERENT sites, and they ALL failed T_T

    Any luck? And does anyone have like a dropbox account or something that they can put the file into? I think the only file that's bad is the largest file in the file, gdtbgm.dat. If you can share that file in dropbox or whatever, I'm fairly certain it will work...Hopefully...
