    Umineko Ougon Musou Kyoku

Post  Dio on Sat Jan 01, 2011 1:27 pm

I was rather tempted to give this thread the subtitle "Seagull Puncher",
though rather than playing like Jew Puncher this game feels more like Marvel vs Capcom what with the character switching, however unlike MvC it doesn't have seperate health bars for each of your team members and in this game you have a duo of characters from any of the available ones which means theres plenty of mixing and matching team wise.
Intresting this game seems to have been my Team 7th Expansion themselves and all of the original voice actors are present to bring life to the characters, while the acting it'self doesn't sound off there are the standard issues of characters talking over eachother before the fight and a weird thing where they have a fallen enemy "Wheeze" on the floor, but the delay for each wheeze is far too short so it just sounds odd.

One of the big things about this game is the amount of clever details they've packed into the gameplay, example almost all of the team combinations have their own arcade mode story; As an example Battler and Ronove go out to gather Battler a "Breasts Harem" and winning your way through the fights offers you some ending CG. However the details are far mroe in depth, during a fight a character is quite likely to call out the other character when switching between the two and if you mix the right characters with the right stages it can have intresting effects. For example the main house's main foyer serves as a stage for a fight but if you bring along Eva-Beatrice and fufill the right conditions the painting of Beatrice will transform into a painting of Eva-Beatrice!

Though what kind of condition was I talking about? The Meta mode of course! What do you mean you don't know what meta-mode is? It's when the fantasy side of things is entered by one of the characters. It allows you to unleash the strongest of your abilities however it only lasts a few moments to hurry to defeating your foe once you've put this to use!

Oh, this game has netplay too.

Umineko fighter without Bern/Lambda? I'm surprised there aren't riots in the streets.

Anyways, Marvel vs Capcom with Umineko characters. Looks pretty, and pretty cool. I can finally wail on Eva-Beatrice and Shannon all day long!

Text colour shenanigans will ensue in this thread.
